These are some of my favorites of all the photos I've taken over the years.  To keep myself honest, I'll only ever have 25 photos on this page.  So if I want to add one I have to remove one first!

If I appear in the photo, I used either my camera's self-timer or the "hold your arm out" trick.

I've also provided explanations and witty captions where applicable.

My cousin Bobby wakeboarding on Canandaigua Lake.  I like how his arm is outstretched towards the sky.  It's adds a little of Bobby's personality to an otherwise anonymous photo.  He did land this, by the way.

I took this portrait of my friend Matt while riding up the chairlift at Bristol Mountain.  Of course Suzy's reflection is what really makes this photo.  If you look closely, you can spot me behind Suzy (gray helmet).

I took this while hiking with some friends in Hi Tor, at the south end of Canandaigua Lake.  I used a wide-angle lens which makes the trees seem to sweep up and away from them.  The wide-angle lens also makes the trees seem to curve slightly around an imaginary point in the center of the photo.

I just happened to capture Samantha mid-laugh, which is what turned this into a better picture than I anticipated.

I used a fisheye lens to take this picture in Times Square looking straight up.  The fisheye lens captures a full 180 degree field of view, so even objects directly to the sides of the camera are still in the image.

I took this picture about 10 years ago with one of my very first digital cameras.  At the last second, the bee flew into view and by pure chance I was able to capture this image.

I was hiking by myself when I spotted the perfect opportunity to show off my hurdling skills.  I set my camera on a short wall and used the self-timer to catch myself in mid-air.  Don't be too impressed with my timing though...  my camera has a "burst mode" that takes 5 shots per second, so I was bound to be in mid-air for at least one of them!

Boracay Island, Philippines.

I realize it's a little vain to have a self-portrait on my "Favorites" page, but I really like how this one came out!

Just after ski season ended, Doreen and I hiked up the hill opposite the ski resort.  We used my camera's self-timer on burst mode to capture this shot.

Once back on the computer, a series of shots taken in burst mode can be stitched together to for a sequence shot like this.

I've been playing around with a waterproof case for my small digital camera, which safely opens up a whole new world of photo opportunities.

I took this photo with my cell phone, which was a real challenge due to the ridiculously long lag time between pushing the button and actually getting a picture.  I actually had to push the button while Camryn was swinging back, just to get it to finally take the picture while she was swinging forward.

For those of you who met my first great dane, Mercedes, you'll understand why this made my favorites list!

Living slopeside at the ski resort, I see all kinds of behind-the-scenes preparations as ski season approaches every year.  This was midnight snowmaking session with the trail lights on full blast.

This has been my standard "I'm a photographer" self-portrait every since I took it in the Turks and Caicos islands while attending a friend's wedding in 2004.
